Clemson Gymnastics Set for Senior Night Showdown with No. 25 Penn State

Clemson Tigers gymnastics returns to Littlejohn Coliseum on Friday, March 14, for its final home meet of the regular season, hosting No. 25 Penn State in an exciting senior night matchup at 8:00 p.m. The Tigers will celebrate their eight senior gymnasts and the program’s senior graduate assistant following the competition.
Fans are encouraged to wear orange for the designated "Orange Out" for this meet. Tickets are still available, with a limited number of walk-ups at the Burton Gallery ticket windows beginning at 7:00 p.m.
A Look Back: Clemson and Penn State Battle at GWU Tri-Meet
The Tigers are coming off a strong performance last weekend, earning their second-highest score of the season (196.475) at a tri-meet with George Washington and Penn State. Clemson posted season-highs on beam (49.050) and floor (49.375) but ultimately finished just .200 points behind Penn State, who took the meet title with a season-best 196.675.
Eve Jackson and Brie Clark led the way on floor, with Jackson scoring a 9.900 and Clark anchoring with a 9.925. On beam, Sierra Church delivered a team-high 9.875, helping the Tigers to their best rotation score of the season. Vault was another highlight for Clemson, as Quinn Kuhl and Maggie Holman both earned career-high 9.875s to lead the rotation.
Scouting No. 25 Penn State
The Nittany Lions enter Friday’s meet ranked No. 25 in the nation and are coming off a dominant performance at George Washington, where they secured 12 career-best scores. They rank inside the top 30 nationally on vault (No. 30), bars (No. 25), and beam (No. 25).
Freshman Elizabeth Leary, who was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after posting a career-best 39.325 all-around total last weekend, will be a key competitor for Penn State. On vault, Maddie Johnston’s 9.925 last weekend secured her fifth vault title of the season. The Nittany Lions also shined on bars, posting a season-best 49.325 behind a 9.9 from Gabbie Gallentine.
What’s at Stake
With both teams gearing up for the postseason, Friday’s meet serves as a critical opportunity to improve their NQS standings. Clemson currently sits at No. 27, with its strongest event rankings on vault (No. 26) and floor (No. 26). The Tigers will look to build off last week’s momentum and aim for another high-scoring performance in front of their home crowd.
