Clemson Gymnastics Set to Host Pitt in Exciting Home Opener

The Clemson Tigers gymnastics team is gearing up for an exciting home opener against the Pittsburgh Panthers tomorrow night at Littlejohn Coliseum. The meet, scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m., promises to be a thrilling contest as both teams look forward to this rematch from a couple weeks ago.
Clemson Tigers: Building Momentum
The Tigers are coming off a strong performance at No. 7 California amidst the loss, where they posted their highest score of the season, a 196.225. Currently ranked No. 22 nationally, Clemson is in the top 25 on vault, bars, and beam.
In their last meet, Clemson earned season-highs on bars, beam, and floor. On bars, Hannah Clark and Quinn Kuhl both scored 9.875, leading the team to a season-best 49.125. On vault, Trinity Brown and Madison Minner each earned a 9.800, contributing to a 48.900 team score. The floor exercise saw Brie Clark shine with a 9.900, helping the Tigers achieve a season-high 49.175. On beam, Kielyn McCright’s 9.850 and Quinn Kuhl’s 9.825 anchored a season-best 49.025 for the team.
Pittsburgh Panthers: A Formidable Opponent
The Panthers, ranked No. 31 nationally, are coming off their lowest score of the season, scoring a 194.550 in their recent meet against No. 15 Stanford. Pitt has demonstrated strength on bars and floor, ranking in the top 30 nationally in both events. In their last encounter with Clemson two weeks ago, the Panthers narrowly lost, 195.500 to 195.100 at Fitzgerald Field House.
In their last meet against Stanford, Elizabeth Cesarone scored a season-high and meet-best 9.875 to win her third straight vault event. Jah'Liyah Bedminster and Jordyn Ewing tied to share the floor title with a 9.875, while Hallie Copperwheat led the bars lineup with a 9.825. The Panthers finished with a strong 49.000 on floor, showcasing their depth and consistency. As shown from last meet against the Panthers, they will look to be a tough competitor once again for Clemson.

Attendees can walk the orange carpet to a pre-meet photo booth, receive orange glow sticks, and meet select student-athletes post-meet in Burton Gallery. With presale tickets sold out, a limited number of walk-up tickets will be available at the Littlejohn ticket window starting at 6:00 p.m..
