Freshman guard Del Jones has been making waves for the Clemson Tigers men's basketball team as of late with his impressive performances in recent games. Standing at 6'2" and weighing 187 pounds, Jones has quickly become a key player for the Tigers, showcasing his skills and potential on the court. He has made a great impact for the team in times of need time and time again for Brad Brownell's squad.
In the recent game against Syracuse on Wednesday night, Jones delivered a flawless performance, scoring 9 points and grabbing 4 rebounds while shooting a perfect 100% from the field. His efficiency and composure under pressure were crucial as he helped lead Clemson to a convincing 86-72 victory over the Orange.
Just a few days later, on Saturday evening, Jones continued his stellar play on the road at Virginia Tech. He scored a career-high 13 points and added 5 rebounds, shooting an impressive 71.4% from the field. His contributions were crucial in Clemson's 72-57 win, marking their fifth consecutive victory and solidifying their strong position in the ACC.

Jones, a four-star recruit from Landover, Maryland, has been a standout player since his high school days at Arizona Compass Prep. Ranked as the No. 66 overall player and No. 14 point guard by ESPN, he has brought his competitive spirit and athleticism to Clemson. His ability to attack the paint, create offense for himself and his team, and his defensive abilities have made him a valuable asset to the team as just a freshman.
Clemson head coach Brad Brownell praised Jones’ impact after the Virginia Tech game, stating, "Huge, might be the most he’s played all year, he’s kind of been coming, the last two weeks he’s practiced probably as well as he has, he’s played a little bit more consistently in games, played well against Syracuse, I just think we’ve started to see some consistency there, and obviously he was big down the stretch."
As the season progresses, Del Jones is expected to continue his upward trajectory, contributing significantly to Clemson's success this season. Clemson fans should definitely be excited to see how this young talent will develop and impact the future of Clemson men’s basketball moving forward.
