The Clemson Tigers softball team has officially locked in the No. 2 seed for the 2025 ACC Championship Tournament. After Florida State’s series win over Virginia Tech, Clemson was able to slide up one spot in the final standings, a well-earned bump for a team that has exceeded expectations all season.

Picked to finish seventh in the ACC preseason poll, the Tigers (41-12, 19-5 ACC) have played with purpose and belief, riding a wave of momentum that not many outside the locker room saw coming. As I like to say often, the games have to be played.

Clemson will open tournament play on Thursday, May 8, at 5 PM EDT on ACC Network. The Tigers will face the winner of the first-round matchup between No. 7 seed Virginia and No. 10 seed Louisville.

The most recent history between Clemson and both possible opponents, came last season, as the Tigers beat Virginia 8-1 in last year’s ACC Tournament and also took two out of three from Louisville to close out last season’s regular season schedule. Now, the stage is set for another deep run. You can find the complete ACC Tournament Schedule by clicking "ACC Tournament Schedule" highlighted in purple.
