Edge rusher A.J. Hoffler has made the decision to enter the transfer portal, a move that has been reported by On3. Standing at 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing in at 255 pounds, Hoffler participated in every game in the 2024 season. During this season, Hoffler recorded a total of 13 tackles, which includes six solo tackles and seven assists. Hoffler's decision to enter the transfer portal comes with the advantage of having two years of eligibility remaining, which he can utilize at another program. As Hoffler considers his next home, it's important to note that Clemson's edge position appears to be well fortified for the upcoming 2025 season. The recent addition of Will Heldt from Purdue adds great talent to the roster, while T.J. Parker’s anticipated return on the opposite side further strengthens the team's defensive lineup. With these key players in place, Clemson will maintain a dominant presence at the edge position. The dynamics of the team will undoubtedly evolve with Hoffler's departure, but the recruitment and development of emerging talent continues to be a priority for the coaching staff. As the transfer portal opens up new opportunities for players like Hoffler, it also allows programs to strategically enhance their rosters in preparation for the next season.
