Former Clemson Tiger wide receiver Hunter Renfrow is officially back in the NFL, agreeing to terms with the Carolina Panthers.
The 29-year-old Renfrow was out of the league last season, leaving a lot of people wondering if and when he would make his return to football. Over the past few months, rumors and clickbait headlines floated around about potential landing spots, but this time it is legit. The Panthers made it official, welcoming Renfrow publicly on social media and through their website, panthers.com.
Renfrow last made major noise during the 2021 season with the Raiders, when he caught 103 passes for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns — a breakout year after a pair of productive seasons in 2019 and 2020, when he totaled 105 catches combined. In five NFL seasons, Renfrow has racked up 269 receptions for 2,884 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Clemson fans will always hold a special place for Renfrow, remembering his clutch, game-winning touchdown catch in the 2017 National Championship against Alabama — one of the most iconic moments in school history.
As Renfrow gets back into things with Carolina, we will be keeping up with his journey and progress with the Panthers. It is just good to see Hunter Renfrow back where he belongs.
