Just when Clemson fans thought Dabo Swinney was done with the transfer portal, the Tigers have landed yet another addition. Clemson lands Jeremiah Alexander, a 6’2”, 232-pound linebacker from Alabama. This marks the second defensive player the Tigers have added from the portal, joining Purdue transfer Will Heldt.

Alexander was a high school teammate of current Clemson defensive lineman Peter Woods and was highly recruited by the Tigers during his high school days before ultimately committing to Alabama. He will arrive at Clemson with two years of eligibility remaining.

During his time with the Crimson Tide, Alexander appeared in four games at inside linebacker during his redshirt freshman season. He transitioned to outside linebacker ahead of the 2023 season, playing in 24 games over the next two years. In that time, he recorded eight tackles, with much of his action coming on special teams for the Tide.

Alexander’s arrival adds depth and talent to an already loaded Clemson linebacker corps. With Wade Woodaz and Sammy Brown leading the way, the group also includes talents like Kobe McCloud, Jamal Anderson, Dee Crayton, and CJ Kubah-Taylor just to name a few.

This addition solidifies Clemson’s linebacker unit as maybe one of the best in college football heading into the 2025 season.
