The hot corners have never looked cooler.

Clemson softball’s infield duo of sophomore Julia Knowler and senior Alex Brown continue to shine on the national stage, as both Tigers earned spots in Softball America’s May Player Rankings which is a nod to their dominant play on both sides of the ball.

Julia Knowler: Power and Production at First

Known for her pop at the plate and consistency in the field, sophomore Julia Knowler (ranked No. 12 at first base) has anchored Clemson’s lineup all season. She currently holds a .322 batting average and a 1.043 OPS, making her one of the ACC’s most feared power hitters. Her 14 home runs and 55 RBIs are second best on the team, while her 16 doubles showcase her gap-to-gap strength. Defensively, Knowler is as reliable as they come, with a near-perfect .991 fielding percentage at first base.

Alex Brown: Spark Plug at the Hot Corner

On the other side of the diamond, Alex Brown (ranked No. 12 at third base) has emerged as one of the nation’s most complete hitters. The senior leads the team with a .431 batting average and an eye-popping 1.138 OPS. She’s done it all with 12 doubles, 3 triples, 4 home runs, and 34 RBIs, while also wreaking havoc on the base paths with 10 stolen bases. Add in her team-high 61 runs scored, and Brown has been the engine that makes the Clemson offense go.

Together, Knowler and Brown form one of the top corner infield tandems in college softball with a blend of power, speed, and defensive talent that gives Clemson a championship-caliber foundation.

As the postseason looms, one thing is clear: the Tigers have the infield corners on lock.
