Clemson women’s basketball has landed a major transfer with the addition of Rachael Rose, a standout guard from Wofford. The 5-foot-7 senior officially committed to the Tigers today, she announced publicly via Instagram, becoming the second transfer addition of the week for head coach Shawn Poppie.
Rose brings experience, scoring power, and a competitive edge to the Tigers’ backcourt. During the 2023-24 season, she averaged an impressive 22.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 2.1 steals per game, earning SoCon Player of the Year, for the second consecutive year, and turning heads across the country.
Despite being limited to just six games in the 2024-25 season due to injury, Rose still managed to average 12.5 points per game. Her standout performance came on December 18, when she scored 23 points against Duke in just 29 minutes of action.
A native of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Rose began her college career at USC Upstate before transferring to Wofford, where she developed into one of the most productive mid-major players in the nation.
Her commitment to Clemson is a significant addition for Coach Poppie, who continues to build a strong roster through the transfer portal. With Rose on board, and another transfer already announced this week, the Tigers' momentum this offseason shows no signs of slowing down.
